The Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions. In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.
Responsibilities:
Project Management & Transaction Support
- Advise on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and banking transactions.
- Manage due diligence, documentation, and closing processes.
- Coordinate with external counsel to drive efficient transaction execution.
Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including NDAs, collaboration, technology, lease, employment, and marketing agreements.
- Streamline and standardize contract templates for consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external counsel.
- Deliver clear, solution-oriented legal advice that supports business objectives.
- Build strong relationships across departments to facilitate effective decision-making.
Skills:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Admitted to the Singapore Bar or a common law jurisdiction.
- 6 to 8 years PQE, with at least 3 years in a reputable law firm; prior in-house experience is an advantage.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Solid understanding of corporate law, governance, and commercial matters.
- Experienced in working independently to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
