The Role

The ideal candidate will be responsible for in-house legal matters including drafting agreements, addressing compliance issues, and participating in negotiation discussions. In order to succeed, this candidate should feel comfortable working with in-house and outside counsels on a variety of legal matters.

Responsibilities:

Project Management & Transaction Support

  • Advise on mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and banking transactions.
  • Manage due diligence, documentation, and closing processes.
  • Coordinate with external counsel to drive efficient transaction execution.

Contract Management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including NDAs, collaboration, technology, lease, employment, and marketing agreements.
  • Streamline and standardize contract templates for consistency and efficiency.
  • Ensure agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with senior management, cross-functional teams, and external counsel.
  • Deliver clear, solution-oriented legal advice that supports business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships across departments to facilitate effective decision-making.

Skills:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Admitted to the Singapore Bar or a common law jurisdiction.
  • 6 to 8 years PQE, with at least 3 years in a reputable law firm; prior in-house experience is an advantage.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid understanding of corporate law, governance, and commercial matters.
  • Experienced in working independently to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
