Role Overview
Commercially-minded mid-level lawyer to join our legal team. Strategic partner to the business, providing legal support for markets transactions, asset acquisitions, and the development of our global data centre portfolio. You will handle a broad range of general corporate matters and lead critical compliance projects to ensure our operations meet evolving regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Markets & Equity Financing: Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of equity and capital markets documents, with related due diligence assistance.
- Asset Acquisitions & Real Estate: Provide legal support for the full lifecycle of data centre projects, from site acquisition and due diligence to construction and completion.
- Data Centre Contracts: Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including colocation arrangements, service level agreements (SLAs), and EPC/construction contracts.
- Compliance & Regulatory: Work with Compliance personnel to design and implement company policies to ensure compliance with local and international laws, focusing on data protection, cybersecurity, and ESG frameworks.
- Strategic M&A: Provide legal input on M&A activity, including transaction structuring, risk assessment, and managing external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- General Corporate: Advise on day-to-day legal issues such as vendor contracts, NDAs, and corporate governance.
- Projects: Involvement in company and departmental projects for overall organizational improvement, such as AI initiatives, internal policies and procedures, compliance matters and new regulations.
Required Skills And Experience
- Experience: Approximately 4–8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) at a reputable law firm or in-house, with a strong background in capital markets, financing or real estate transactions.
- Sector Knowledge: Prior experience in capital markets and general corporate contracting. Data centre, telecommunications, or digital infrastructure sectors is also highly regarded.
- Technical Proficiency: Business focused legal analysis to align legal risks with business appetite.
- Strategic Thinking: Act as a strategic partner to the business, advising on long-term trends, infrastructure, legal and regulatory risks.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
