Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely legal advice on the full scope of operations for CICC Singapore and other CICC offices in Southeast Asia. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing legal support to management and business units on applicable laws and regulations, and participating in new business initiatives alongside business and risk teams.
Handling investment banking transactions, including reviewing and negotiating contracts and legal documents.
Developing and maintaining strong awareness of legal and regulatory developments within CICC by keeping management and employees informed of relevant legal updates.
Establishing appropriate training programs, and creating or updating policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes, including developments in financial services regulation.
Exercising sound business and legal judgment while demonstrating the highest degree of professionalism in dealings with clients and colleagues.
Providing legal advice and daily operational support to various business units within CICC Singapore and other Southeast Asia offices.
Providing support to the CEO of CICC Singapore.
Collaborating with legal teams in other jurisdictions.
Knowledge
Must have exposure to capital markets, IPOs, M&A, and other investment banking products, as well as private equity work.
Experience in secondary market work, such as equities trading, FICC, and wealth management, is a plus.
Familiarity with Singapore laws and regulations.

Self-motivated, capable of working both independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to seeing projects through to completion.
Highly responsible, diligent, and demonstrates strong integrity and professional ethics.
Strong analytical and evaluation skills.
Excellent legal drafting ability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in English. Proficiency in Mandarin is a plus for liaising with Chinese stakeholders.
Attentive to detail.
Qualifications
Law degree from a reputable law school.
Singapore-qualified lawyer.
