Singapore is one of the key strategic manufacturing sites for our organization and patients. The local site operates multi-product facilities that manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients, oral solid dosage, inhalation and sterile drug products.


In 2019, a Capital investment was announced to set up new packaging lines in Singapore to support

Asia Pacific supply. This involves the establishment of the new Packaging area which will include one Vial line and three Syringe lines capable of supplying our key products for the Asia Pacific market.

Looking for a change The following presents an opportunity to work in the Packaging team.


THE OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you are responsible for supporting and executing the setup of the Packaging operations. This involves working closely together with the Capital Project team to ensure Safety, Quality, Compliance and Operational aspects of the packaging lines are adequately included during the design and construction phase. Post the construction and qualification, as the team prepares for commercial supply, you will support the engineering and maintenance activities to ensure they meet GMP, regulatory and supply requirements.


WHAT YOU WILL DO:

In this role, you will:

  • Participate actively as part of the Site start-up team in equipment FATs and site qualification activities (IQ, OQ and PPQ) for Syringe and Vial Packaging lines
  • Shape data-driven decisions that solve business challenges and deliver on desired outcomes and people experience.
  • Drive innovation, every plant area is a model area using our Production System (MPS).
  • Build Future Ready Manufacturing facility, position Singapore manufacturing site as strategic site for new products and innovation solutions in the Global Network.

Other Key Responsibilities include:

Safety & compliance

  • Lead Safety, Quality and customer complaints investigations with a cross-functional team and establish Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) to prevent re-occurrence.
  • Prepare and develop SOPs and Job Aids to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Support implementation of equipment change by initiating change control, participating in impact assessments and executing field equipment modifications.
  • Management of project schedules, resource plans, vendor coordination, and material purchases.
  • Proactively review and challenge current activities to reduce safety risk for employees and quality risks for company’s products.

Enhance and uphold maintenance quality

  • Implements technical solutions to improve equipment uptime and asset utilization through use of Continuous Improvement mindset (Lean methodologies)
  • Coach and guide the maintenance and operations team
  • Supports Maintenance Lead to meet Profit Plan targets, optimize maintenance and product standard cost effectiveness in accordance with cGMP and Safety guidelines
  • Responsible for improving the reliability of packaging equipment and maintenance processes by applying the principles of Reliability Centered Maintenance.
  • Lead and develop Business and GMP processes, formalized them into site procedures required for startup and commercial launch.

Operations excellence

  • Develop and implement maintenance strategy for packaging equipment’s Packaging lines including Thermoforming, Carton packaging, Label application, Palletization.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance plan is always up-to-date and equipment breakdowns are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Work with Engineering & Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) to execute a reliability-centric’ maintenance plan
  • Share best practices and lessons learned with the objective of improving asset utilization.
  • Undertake activities to support realization of production, maintenance and product cost effectiveness with emphasis on equipment reliability and maintenance expenses.

Continuous Improvements (CI)

  • Utilize Lean methodologies such as 5S, Standard Work, real-time problem solving (RTPS), to support execution of continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the development of continuous improvement framework and work with the Maintenance team to identify opportunities.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE

To be successful in this role you should be possess a Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering, with at least 8 years of maintenance work experience in the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Semiconductor or Petrochemical industry. Knowledge and experience working within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Familiarity with SAP is a plus. Besides, Knowledge of parts inventory management, mechanical and electrical equipment design reliability principles is required.
