Job Description:
The role is a Stevedore Cargo Master is to perform lashing/unlashing operations on board vessels, vessel berthing/unberthing operations, container reefer, plugging/unplugging operations and water bunkering operations at PSA Container Terminal.
Job Duties:
- Prior to the commencement of operations, all personal protective equipment (PPE) i.e. uniforms, safety helmet, body harness, safety shoes, life jacket and any other necessary safety gears must be worn
- Prepare in advance the necessary equipment e.g., Twist locks, lashing gears etc. necessary for the container lashing/unlashing operations. While using equipment, work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to standard operating procedure and complying to safety rules and regulations in the operational areas
- Assist in berthing/unberthing operations
- Assist in water bunkering operations
- Fixing/removing twist locks on/from containers
- Flapping/unflapping of containers
- Plugging/unplugging reefer containers
- Lashing/unlashing of containers
- Fixing/unfixing of spreader, over height and un-containerized cargo gears
- All exceptions and unusual occurrences must be reported promptly to the team leader, STA, or duty supervisor
Job roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for positioning and and securing of containers on board
- Ensure smooth operations and safety compliance
- Take safety precautions to avoid accident /incident possibilities
- To report any damages/incidents to superior immediately
- To attend toolbox briefing prior to commencement of work
- Observe all instructions and duties briefed by your direct superior
- To comply with the Company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Observe and comply to all Workplace Safety Standards, Protocols, Duties and Responsibilities in accordance with the workplace/department you are going to work in
Requirements:
Minimum education: PSLE English Grade C or WPLN (Reading, Listening, Numeracy) Level 4
