JOB DETAILS
- Perform lashing/unlashing operations on board vessels, vessel berthing/unberthing operations, container reefer, plugging/unplugging operations and water bunkering operations
- Working hours: 12 hour rotating shift, starting 9.30am/9.30pm
- Working days: 22-25 days per month
- Location: PSA container terminal
- Nature of Job: Physically demanding, standing work for long hours, work at height
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Open to Singaporeans, Singapore PRs or LTVP/LTVP+ holders with valid Letter of Consent only
- Minimum education: PSLE English Grade C, N(A) Level 5, N(T) Level D or WPLN (Reading, Listening, Numeracy) Level 4
- Physically fit as candidates are required to handle heavy equipment
- Not suitable for candidates with high blood pressure or diabetes due to the physical nature of the job
JOB DUTIES
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), i.e. uniforms, safety helmet, body harness, safety shoes, life jacket and any other necessary safety gear before commencing operations
- Prepare in advance the necessary equipment, e.g. twist locks, lashing gears, etc. necessary for the container lashing/unlashing operations
- Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to standard operating procedures and complying to safety rules and regulations in the operational areas
- Assist in berthing/unberthing operations
- Assist in water bunkering operations
- Fix/remove twist locks on/from containers
- Flap/unflap containers
- Plug/unplug reefer containers
- Lash/unlash containers
- Fix/unfix spreader, over heigh and uncontainerised cargo gears
- Promptly report all exceptions and unusual occurrence to team leader, STA or duty supervisor
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lashing Specialist: Position and secure containers on board
- Coneman: Ensure twist locks are removed from the container prior to PMGO
- Ensure smooth operations and safety compliance
- Take safety precautions to avoid accident/incident possibilities
- Report any damages/incidents to superior immediately
- Attend toolbox briefing prior to commencement of work
- Observe all instructions and duties briefed by direct supervisor
- Comply with the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Observe and comply to all Workplace Safety standards, protocols, duties and responsibilities
Interviews conducted weekly (usually on Wednesdays)
