CONTRACT ROLE: 6/12 Months
Responsibilities:
- Support the CRO, Head of AML/KYC, and Periodic Review Lead in the ongoing management of AML/CFT compliance and client lifecycle review activities.
- Take ownership of periodic KYC / CDD reviews, ensuring client files meet internal standards and regulatory requirements, with appropriate risk assessment and documentation quality.
- Perform risk-based due diligence, including reviews of high-risk clients, PEPs, complex ownership structures, and cross-border relationships.
- Review and assess client transactional activities, name screening alerts, and adverse media, exercising judgment to identify unusual patterns and escalate potential issues when required.
- Act as a key point of contact for Front Office, Client Documentation Services, Risk, Legal, and AML teams, working across Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Dubai to resolve KYC and risk-related matters.
- Handle and coordinate ad-hoc KYC/CDD requests from auditors, regulators, and Head Office, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-documented responses.
- Support regulatory examinations, internal audits, and compliance reviews, including preparation of materials and follow-up on findings or remediation actions.
- Contribute to process improvements, control enhancements, and compliance-related initiatives within the Periodic Review function.
- Stay informed of AML/CFT regulatory developments and internal policy updates, supporting implementation where required.
- Provide guidance and quality oversight to junior team members, as appropriate, to ensure consistency in review standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 4-7 years of relevant experience in KYC onboarding, periodic review, and/or AML compliance within a Private Bank (mandatory).
- Strong working knowledge of MAS Notice 626 and applicable AML/CFT regulations and guidelines, with proven ability to apply regulatory requirements in a Private Banking environment.
- Experience supporting or managing AML/CFT regulatory inspections, internal and external audits, and participation in compliance or process improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience handling high-risk clients, including PEPs, complex ownership structures, trusts, and offshore arrangements, with appropriate escalation and documentation.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment, balancing regulatory requirements with business needs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering with Front Office and regional stakeholders.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
