Kitchen Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks for children according to the planned menu.
• Wash, cut, and prepare ingredients under the supervision of the cook or kitchen supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Ensure proper storage of food items and ingredients.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and dining areas after meal preparation and service.
• Assist in receiving and organising food supplies.
• Dispose of food waste and garbage properly.
• Support the cook in daily kitchen tasks as required.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and perform kitchen duties.
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team.
• Experience in a kitchen or childcare environment is an advantage but not required.
• Food Hygiene Certificate (preferred).

Working Environment

• Work takes place in a kindergarten kitchen environment.
• Must follow strict hygiene and safety practices to ensure children's well-being.
