This advertisement is recruiting for the position of Kitchen Aide to Support School Food Laboratory Operations.
If successfully selected, you will be seconded to MOE secondary school located in Dover Road.
Contract Period: from 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2026. (Service is not required from 01 Dec 2026 to 31 Dec 2026).
Option to Extend: from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2028. (Service is not required from 01 Dec 2027 to 31 Dec 2027 & 01 Dec 2028 to 31 Dec 2028).
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours :
- Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00am to 4:00pm, inclusive 1 hr lunch break.
- Fridays: 7:00am to 3:00pm, inclusive 1 hr lunch break.
- Service may be required on some Saturdays to support ad hoc school events.
- Service not required on Sundays and gazetted public holidays and most Saturdays.
The services required are set out as the follows:
- Assist teachers in preparing ingredients and equipment for cooking workshops or student's cooking sessions during stipulated working hours.
- Maintain the general cleanliness of the work place and equipment.
- Clean the Food Labs, utensils and equipment after lessons.
- Ensure proper stock-taking and management of perishable ingredients.
- Ensure that all sharp equipment are accounted for at all times.
- Any other duties assigned by the Authority.
Personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Attended or in process of attending food related certification modules or courses (e.g. Food Safety and Hygiene, Baking course, etc.). To provide transcripts or other documents as proof of attendance in the absence of certification.
- Food related certification would be advantageous. To provide copies of certificates as proof of qualification.
- Able to read, write and speak in English.
- Previous experience of at least 3 months in performing a similar function involving food handling would be advantageous.
- Experience in performing planning or administrative tasks would be advantageous.
- Must be physically and medically fit to fulfill the job function.
- Familiar with operating common kitchen equipment such as mixers, electric ovens and gas and induction cookers in the Food Lab.
- Familiar with preparing portions of ingredients by weight or volume.
