The Junior Analyst supports the APAC commercial accounting and pricing function by helping to prepare financial analysis and insight for the APAC Commercial Accounting Manager, while developing core analytical skills that contribute to informed decision-making by partners and leadership.

Responsibilities
Commercial Insight & Financial Performance
- Help produce financial and commercial analysis to support decision-making across practices, sectors, and offices within the APAC region.
- Monitor key financial metrics such as revenue, utilisation, margin, and lock-up, flagging any concerns to the Commercial Accounting Manager.
- Support the preparation of performance analysis across sectors, practice groups, and clients to help identify drivers of profitability.
- Assist in maintaining and updating financial models to support planning and strategic decisions.
Sector, SIG and International Reporting
- Support the Commercial Accounting Manager in the delivery of Sector reporting, providing high-level analysis to Heads of Sector.
- Support efforts to keep reporting consistent and comparable across sectors and geographies.
Pricing and Matter Profitability
- Assist with financial analysis and modelling to support pricing discussions.
- Support matter budgeting, tracking, and post-matter profitability analysis.
- Help identify trends in pricing and matter performance
Power BI, AI and Reporting Development
- Support the development and improvement of Power BI reports, working with the BI & Insights team.
- Help simplify and standardise reporting across practice groups and sectors.
- Assist in exploring and applying AI tools to enhance the quality, efficiency, and delivery of financial reporting and analysis.
- Help identify opportunities where AI can support the automation of routine reporting tasks and improve the accessibility of insight across the firm
Training and Knowledge Sharing
- Assist in the preparation of training materials for junior associates and trainees on key profitability drivers, including the associate timekeeper report.
- Contribute to building financial awareness across the firm by sharing insight and best practice.
Skills and Attributes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and explain it clearly.
- Experience in profitability analysis, pricing support, and financial modelling.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience developing Power BI reports.
- Experience in a professional services or law firm environment is desirable.
- Able to identify issues and propose solutions with guidance, whilst being a collaborative team player willing to learn.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick to adapt and acquire new skills, with enthusiasm to develop knowledge of commercial finance and pricing.
