Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Specialist with knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and endpoint testing to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and security of critical systems, coordinating operational teams, and supporting government-wide technology initiatives. You will also be involved in testing, quality assurance, and asset management to ensure smooth business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an operations team to maintain and support secure IT products and systems.
- Ensure uninterrupted management of card production systems and PKI services in line with service level agreements.
- Work closely with agencies and internal teams to gather requirements and deliver timely solutions.
- Analyze business needs, evaluate impact of change requests, and propose process or system improvements.
- Track and manage project deliverables, documentation, and change requests for governance purposes.
- Perform evaluation testing, inspection, and acceptance of PC hardware and software.
- Conduct quality assurance testing for changes to end-user equipment (e.g. security patches, software upgrades).
- Propose and support hardware/software upgrades and technology refresh initiatives.
- Manage and maintain project asset inventories, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Support equipment rollouts and inventory requests across organisations.
- Conduct regular hardware asset and software license audits, including capacity planning and forecasting.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a desktop support engineer or IT operations specialist, with hands-on experience in administering PCs (laptops, desktops) and peripherals.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows environments and related technologies.
- Experience with PKI systems and/or card production is an advantage.
- Familiarity with IT business analysis and quality assurance testing.
- Basic network troubleshooting skills.
- ITIL Service Operations certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Knowledge of IT asset management processes and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and in team settings.
- Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and senior management.
- Strong customer orientation, resourcefulness, and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
