Description

An IT Intern supports the Information Technology team in maintaining computer systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with daily IT operations. This role provides hands-on experience in IT support, networking, cybersecurity, and system administration while developing professional and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot computers, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
• Assist with user account setup, password resets, and system access management.
• Support the deployment and maintenance of operating systems and software applications.
• Monitor and maintain IT inventory, including laptops, peripherals, and licenses.
• Assist in documenting IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support network and infrastructure projects under the supervision of IT staff.
• Conduct basic system testing and quality assurance activities.
• Participate in cybersecurity awareness and compliance activities.
• Perform other IT-related duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Experience And Skills

• Basic troubleshooting of computer hardware and software issues.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Knowledge of computer networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
• Experience installing and configuring software applications.
• Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and password management.
• Exposure to operating systems, databases, or programming through coursework.
  
  

Desired Experience And Skills

• Exposure to networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals and IT best practices.
• Hands-on experience through academic projects, laboratory work, or personal IT projects.
• Exposure to Active Directory, Windows Server, or cloud platforms is an advantage.
• Experience providing technical assistance or customer service support.
• Ability to document technical procedures and troubleshoot issues methodically.
• Experience working in team-based projects and meeting deadlines.
