Job Description

Team & Position

BSQ special opportunities is one of industry's first dedicated opportunistic credit/special situations investment strategy providing capital solutions to companies and real assets driving the next digital era of AI and blockchain. With an all-weather, capital structure agnostic approach, the strategy seeks to capitalize on dislocations and underserved opportunities across the ecosystem and value chain. The strategy emphasizes risk-adjusted returns with a bias toward senior capital structures such as debt with warrants, convertibles, and structured equity.

We are seeking a Director to join our investment team primarilycovering North America and Asian markets. This is an opportunity to join a leanhigh calibre team, work on some of the most exciting deals as pioneers in thisspace, as well as be part of a young and fast-growing emerging manager.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end deal screening, structuring, due diligence, and deal execution
• Assist in sourcing and deal negotiations with stakeholders and management
• Perform appropriate industry, business, legal, and financial analyses / modeling
• Prepare internal memos and make recommendations to investment committee on investment opportunities
• Oversee post investment asset management / reporting / monitoring workstreams
• Participate in investor meetings and assist with investor due diligence requests
• Contribute to the build-out of the team, strategy, business, and culture of BSQ

Position Requirements

• 6 - 10 years work experience preferably in opportunistic credit/special situations, private equity, or investment banking
• Previous buy-side experience preferred
• Strong grasp of corporate finance fundamentals, markets, and deal structuring
• Excellent quantitative/analytical and financial modeling skills
• Ability to operate independently and responsibly with little oversight as well as the ability to manage the due diligence process and execution of deals
• Have the grit and stamina to work in high paced / high performance environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external parties
• Possess the best work ethics and character with integrity and sense of responsibility
• Entrepreneurial mind with natural curiosity to learn and seek out new concepts
• Fluency in English. Mandarin fluency is a plus, but not a must
