Associate Director for Investments, Ecosystem Engagement

AVPN's Investments practice works with foundations, family offices, private equity and venture capital firms, and corporates to advance more intentional, outcome-focused deployment of capital across Asia. The practice spans investor education, deal facilitation, enterprise-investor matchmaking, and ecosystem building — and is growing fast.

The Associate Director, Investments is a core member of this team, and working under the Director of Investments to execute and scale the practice across Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia. The role combines relationship management, market intelligence, and programme execution — working directly with members to advance their investment mandates, connecting capital to opportunity, and positioning AVPN as the platform of choice for investors, DFIs, and multilaterals seeking to deploy capital effectively in Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive investments engagement across the portfolio

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with AVPN members and stakeholders across the investment spectrum — family offices, foundations, private equity and venture capital firms, DFIs, multilaterals, and sovereign wealth funds and corporate ESG teams
• Develop a deep understanding of each stakeholder's investment thesis, mandates, and strategic priorities, and position AVPN as a credible thought partner and connector
• Support members in advancing their investment goals, from education and strategy development to deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring
• Facilitate connections between social enterprises and global or Fortune 500 companies seeking ESG-compliant suppliers and partners
• Own client servicing and relationship management for Vantage members and prospective members in the region, ensuring engagement translates into renewed and upgraded membership

Support practice growth in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia

• Contribute to the implementation of AVPN's investments strategy across key markets in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia
• Identify opportunities for new programming, partnerships, and member engagement in the region
• Represent AVPN at investment events, sector conferences, and ecosystem gatherings across Asia
• Build and maintain AVPN's investments knowledge base

Maintain a current, well-organized resource hub of trends, data, and developments in investments relevant to AVPN stakeholders

• Provide members with timely intelligence on regulatory shifts, market developments, and emerging opportunities in the sector
• Raise awareness of the importance and value of investing — particularly in the context of ESG standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Collaborate with the Comms & Content team on investment thought leadership, reports, and member-facing materials.

Maintain disciplined pipeline and operations management

• Keep Salesforce up to date with accurate records of all relationship activities, pipeline stages, and member notes
• Participate actively in team reviews and contribute to pipeline and programme reporting
• Meet agreed targets for member engagement, programme participation, and portfolio growth
• Support the Director of Investments with operational and strategic planning as the practice scales

Responsibilities

• Bachelors degree in finance, business, economics, sustainability, or a related field; master's degree/CFA preferred
• 6–9 years of experience in investments, finance, investment management, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated experience working across the investment spectrum — including investor education, deal sourcing, due diligence, and ESG or SDG-aligned strategy
• Familiarity with the investment landscape in Southeast Asia and/or Northeast Asia. Existing relationships with DFIs, multilaterals, or institutional investors in the region are a strong plus
• Strong relationship management skills — able to engage credibly with senior stakeholders across investor, corporate, and civil society communities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex investment and sector information for diverse audiences
• Comfortable with CRM discipline and structured pipeline management
• International outlook and comfort working across cultures and geographies
• Deep alignment with AVPN's mission and genuine conviction about the role of capital in driving social change
