Job Description & Requirements
The Warehouse Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring efficient stock management, and optimizing warehouse space utilization. This role involves monitoring inventory levels, conducting stock audits, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams, and implementing inventory control procedures to prevent stock discrepancies.
Inventory Management & Control
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and ensure stock accuracy.
- Monitor stock movements, including incoming shipments, storage, and dispatch.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and cycle counting to reconcile system records.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system data and physical inventory.
- Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) or other stock rotation methods to prevent obsolescence.
Warehouse Operations & Coordination
- Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure proper stock handling and storage.
- Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to align inventory levels with demand.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization and suggest improvements in layout and storage methods.
- Ensure timely updating of inventory records in ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and inventory control standards.
- Prepare and submit inventory reports, including stock variance analysis and slow-moving stock reports.
- Assist in audits and implement corrective actions based on audit findings.
- Track damaged, expired, or obsolete stock and recommend disposal or corrective actions.
Technology & Process Improvement
- Utilize inventory management software and ERP systems to track stock levels.
- Identify areas for process improvement and recommend automation or digital solutions.
- Support warehouse digitalization efforts and assist in system enhancements.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Any certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in warehouse inventory management.
- Experience with inventory software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, WMS) is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis for inventory reports.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve stock discrepancies.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with multiple departments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Work Environment
- Warehouse setting, requiring standing and moving for extended periods.
- Adherence to safety guidelines and proper use of warehouse equipment.
- Own Personal Transport (Motorcycle) recommended
- Able to work in Jurong Island
