Intern (Events)

Overview

The Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS) is a non-profit organisation that represents the interests of the commercial and investment banking community. As at 9 June 2025, our membership comprised 155 local and foreign banks/institutions and representative offices operating in Singapore

Our roles include:

1. Representing the Commercial and Investment Banking Industry: We voice the interests of our members in Singapore through strategic engagement with our stakeholders - banks, regulators and customers.

2. Upholding the Integrity of Members: We work with members to develop and implement industry code of conduct and guidelines that are in line with international best practices.

3. Building Relationships within the Industry: We build consensus among members with differing opinions and coordinate as well as gather support for projects of mutual benefit.

4. Collaborating with Regional and International Organisations: We partner with these organisations to strengthen members interests.

Job Description

To deliver on time assigned projects as well as managing the various project stakeholders across all levels to align to the project's objectives and creating value for the banking industry. In addition, to plan and organise events for ABS to ensure outstanding event experience and satisfaction with smooth event execution.

Key responsibilities

1. Communicate and provide updates to stakeholders, including managing and aligning their expectations to the events and projects objectives.

2. Provide secretariat support to industry and project meetings (including minutes writing)

3. Consolidate project updates from project workgroups and workstreams

4. Report and escalate as needed when there are potential delays to the achievement of project milestones.

5. Work closely with banking project teams to secure sponsors/speakers for speaking slots.

6. Supporting Manager(s) to evaluate and recommend solutions and agreements proposed by vendors and partners

7. Prepare plan and budget for approval.

8. As a team, plan and organise events and projects assigned to ensure that event is delivered to the highest standard and within budget.

9. Manage event processes, including planning, marketing, coordinating logistics arrangements (e.g. liaising with speakers, source for venues, arranging meetings, etc.)

10. Suggest creative event concepts to develop a memorable/unique experience for the sponsors and attendees.

11. Prepare and update emcee scripts and marketing and logistical materials for events.

12. Develop online and offline publicity materials, create event registration page on online platforms, design event banners/ thumbnails and upload event contents for publicity.

13. Provide input to procurement on competitive quotation from local/overseas suppliers.

14. Co-ordinate and interface within and inter-department to ensure event and project work flows smoothly.

15. Collaborate and perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements

. Proficiency in MS Office tool.

. Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

. Solid organizational skills (systematic and methodical) including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

. Resourceful and able to multi- task with minimum supervision.

. Creative, passionate and results oriented.

. Proactive with fast decision making and problem solving.

. Strong team player with collaborative skills

NOTE: This position is key to our mission to support the development of local talentand must be able to commit at least 6 months and above.
