Job Description

We are looking for a technically-grounded Interior Design Assistant Manager to bridge the gap between architectural design and site execution. Unlike a traditional design role, this position focuses heavily on the technicalities of the build-specializing in sub-contractor coordination, material precision (specifically stone and marble), and the management of high-end artisanal finishes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Coordination & Site Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end renovation lifecycle, from initial hacking and structural works to final handover.

  • Coordinate and manage specialized sub-contractors (carpenters, stone-cutters, electricians) to ensure seamless site progress.

  • Navigate HDB/BCA renovation guidelines and ensure all site activities meet Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards.

2. Technical Materiality & Quality Assurance

  • Act as the lead for material verification, specifically for natural stone, marble, and high-end masonry.

  • Conduct site inspections to ensure that material fabrication (cutting and jointing) aligns with technical drawings.

  • Implement quality control for Upcoming Services including epoxy grouting and artisanal decorative painting (lime wash/Venetian plaster).

3. Planning & Documentation

  • Develop and maintain project schedules (Gantt charts) to prevent site bottlenecks.

  • Manage project documentation, including variation orders, site progress reports, and defect rectification lists.

  • Assist in the technical drafting of interior layouts and construction details.

4. Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing transparent progress updates and resolving site-related queries.

Maintain strong relationships with premium material vendors and sub-con partners to ensure timely procurement.

This job description is tailored to the Earthen Builders profile we've built. It emphasizes the technical sub-con and specialist stone side of the business, which differentiates it from a typical creative-only interior design role.
