Job Summary
SMA Engineering Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Instrumentation Manager to oversee and manage instrumentation-related projects and site operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge and leadership skills in instrumentation systems, electrical coordination, testing, commissioning, and project execution within construction and M&E environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct instrumentation and electrical project activities across multiple sites to ensure timely and quality delivery
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise instrumentation installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance works to meet project requirements
- Manage project schedules, allocate manpower, plan materials, and coordinate site activities to optimize resource utilization
- Review technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution
- Ensure all instrumentation and electrical works adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and company procedures
- Monitor project progress and prepare detailed progress reports for management and clients to support informed decision-making
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues on site to minimize delays and maintain quality standards
- Oversee QA/QC inspection activities and maintain comprehensive project documentation for audit and compliance purposes
- Support project tendering, planning, procurement coordination, and execution activities to contribute to project success
- Conduct site meetings and provide technical guidance to site teams to enhance performance and resolve challenges
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, electrical, M&E, or construction projects
- Proficient in instrumentation systems, electrical installation and coordination, testing and commissioning, project management, site supervision, QA/QC inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Solid understanding of site safety practices and project coordination
- Capability to work independently and manage multiple project activities effectively
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant Electrical or Instrumentation Certifications
- Safety Certifications
- Inspection or Commissioning-related Certifications advantageous
