Job Summary

SMA Engineering Solutions Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Instrumentation Manager to oversee and manage instrumentation-related projects and site operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge and leadership skills in instrumentation systems, electrical coordination, testing, commissioning, and project execution within construction and M&E environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct instrumentation and electrical project activities across multiple sites to ensure timely and quality delivery
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise instrumentation installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance works to meet project requirements
  • Manage project schedules, allocate manpower, plan materials, and coordinate site activities to optimize resource utilization
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution
  • Ensure all instrumentation and electrical works adhere to project specifications, safety standards, and company procedures
  • Monitor project progress and prepare detailed progress reports for management and clients to support informed decision-making
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues on site to minimize delays and maintain quality standards
  • Oversee QA/QC inspection activities and maintain comprehensive project documentation for audit and compliance purposes
  • Support project tendering, planning, procurement coordination, and execution activities to contribute to project success
  • Conduct site meetings and provide technical guidance to site teams to enhance performance and resolve challenges

Required competencies and certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, electrical, M&E, or construction projects
  • Proficient in instrumentation systems, electrical installation and coordination, testing and commissioning, project management, site supervision, QA/QC inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and project specifications
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Solid understanding of site safety practices and project coordination
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple project activities effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Relevant Electrical or Instrumentation Certifications
  • Safety Certifications
  • Inspection or Commissioning-related Certifications advantageous
