Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Institutional Sales - Derivatives Specialist to join our dynamic team in Singapore. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's derivatives sales business across exchange-traded and cleared OTC products, focusing on institutional clients such as hedge funds, asset managers, proprietary trading firms, and corporate treasuries.
This is a high-impact role requiring strong market knowledge, client relationship management skills, and proven ability to grow institutional flows in a competitive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to grow revenue across exchange-traded and OTC-cleared derivatives.
- Originate and drive client acquisition by on-boarding new institutional clients and expanding the firm's client base.
- Maintain and deepen relationships with existing institutional clients, growing share of wallet and capturing cross-product opportunities.
- Generate commission revenue by proactively pitching ideas, market insights, and structured solutions to clients.
- Collaborate closely with trading desks, research teams, and operations to deliver seamless execution and client support.
- Monitor global derivatives markets (SGX, HKEX, CME, ICE, LME, etc.) and translate market opportunities into actionable ideas for clients.
- Contribute to team initiatives by identifying new market segments, product opportunities, and cross-selling synergies within KGI.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and licensing requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5-7 years of proven institutional sales or sales trading experience in derivatives, ideally within an investment bank, brokerage, or securities firm.
- Strong product knowledge across equity, FX, and commodities derivatives (exchange-traded and OTC-cleared).
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining institutional client relationships and generating revenue.
- Familiarity with major global exchanges (e.g., SGX, HKEX, CME, ICE, LME) and derivatives trading ecosystems.
- Must hold the relevant MAS-required licenses (e.g., CMFAS papers for dealing and advising in securities and futures).
- Highly motivated self-starter with a commercial mindset, resilience, and commitment to performance excellence.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple opportunities.
