Role Description:
The In-House Legal Counsel / Corporate Lawyer provides legal guidance and support to the organization on a wide range of corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters. This role ensures legal compliance, mitigates risks, and supports business objectives through proactive legal advice and contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and employment matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with local and international laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Advise management on risk mitigation, corporate policies, and business strategies.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
- Manage external legal counsel and oversee litigation matters as required.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulatory changes.
- Assist in developing internal policies, compliance programs, and training initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent; Master's (LLM) or relevant specialization is a plus.
- Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience as in-house counsel or corporate lawyer.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, commercial law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to advise business leaders effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
