Job Description

Mission Brief: Build the People Engine of a High-Growth Retail Business

Lenskart's Southeast Asia business is at an inflection point — scaling rapidly across Singapore, Thailand, and the broader region, with retail expansion at its core. Behind every store, every customer experience, and every growth milestone is one critical lever: talent.

This role is the people's architecture behind that scale.

As the HR Business Partner for SEA, you will not just support the business — you will define how it hires, builds, and scales teams across markets. You will sit at the intersection of business, operations, and people, designing the systems that enable rapid expansion without compromising on culture or quality.

This is a builder's role for someone who sees HR as a growth engine, not a support function.

Core Mandate: What You Will Build & Drive

1. Talent Architecture for Retail Scale Own the end-to-end talent blueprint for SEA — across workforce planning, hiring strategy, and org design. Build systems that ensure we can scale stores, teams, and leadership pipelines ahead of the curve. Move from reactive hiring to a forward-built talent engine across markets.

2. Frontline Hiring Engine (FOS) Lead the design and execution of a high-velocity, high-quality frontline hiring engine across Singapore, Thailand, and emerging SEA markets. You will not just fill roles — you will build pipelines, improve conversion, and create repeatable hiring systems that can scale with expansion.

3. Culture & Performance Infrastructure Define what high performance looks like in our retail ecosystem — and build the frameworks that drive it. From performance management to on-ground engagement, you will ensure culture is not accidental but engineered across every market we operate in.

4. HR Operations & Compliance at Scale Own the operational backbone — payroll coordination, compliance, work pass management, and statutory adherence across multiple SEA markets. Build systems that are robust, scalable, and future-ready as regional complexity increases.

5. Market Intelligence & Expansion Readiness Bring deep insight into the Singapore, Thailand, and broader SEA talent markets. Anticipate hiring challenges, talent gaps, and capability needs before they become bottlenecks. Your goal: every store launch is talent-ready on day zero — regardless of market.

6. Cross-Functional Business Partnering Operate as a true business partner — embedded with retail and country leaders across SEA. Challenge assumptions, bring data into people decisions, and ensure every growth plan is backed by a strong talent strategy.

The Essentials

  • 8–12 years of experience in HR, with strong HRBP exposure in retail or consumer-facing environments.
  • Proven experience in the Singapore market, with working knowledge or exposure to Thailand and other SEA geographies.
  • Strong grounding in HR fundamentals — labor laws, compliance, performance, and employee lifecycle. Singapore National.

The Mindset — This Is What Sets You Apart

  • Systems Thinker: You don't see hiring, performance, and engagement as separate processes. You build interconnected people systems that scale with the business.
  • Builder's Instinct: You are not here to maintain HR processes — you are here to architect, refine, and scale the people engine for a growing region.
  • On-Ground Operator: You are as comfortable in stores as you are in strategy discussions. You stay close to reality and build from first principles.
  • Talent Athlete: You have a sharp eye for talent and an obsession with quality. You know that great retail businesses are built store by store, hire by hire.
  • Bias for Impact: You move fast, prioritize what matters, and measure yourself by outcomes — store readiness, hiring velocity, retention, and team performance.

Why This Role Changes Your Career

In the next 2–3 years, you will have built the people operating system for a high-growth Southeast Asia business. You will have directly influenced how Lenskart scales across markets, shaping teams, culture, and leadership pipelines.

This is not an HR role with a regional scope. This is a leadership mandate at the heart of business expansion.

Why Lenskart — Right Now

We are scaling across Southeast Asia at a pace few companies experience — building a strong retail footprint, investing in talent, and creating a differentiated customer experience.

The people who join now will define how this business grows.

If you are an HR leader who thinks like a builder, operates like a business owner, and believes talent is the ultimate growth lever — this role is built for you.
