Job Summary
The HR Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.
What can you expect to do
- Recruitment & Hiring: Recruiting, hiring, and training coordination for all departments.
- Benefits Administration: Manages and coordinates benefits administration.
- Employee Relations: Manages employee relations.
- HR Programs & Procedures: Assists departments in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for employees.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as required by governing agencies.
- Employee Relations Support: Acts as an employee relations specialist.
- Performance Management: Distributes and monitors performance reviews.
- Benefits Eligibility & Enrollment: Monitors employee eligibility for benefit plans and processes enrollments, cancellations, and changes.
- Open Enrollment Management: Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election processes.
- Benefits Records Management: Maintains and distributes lists of new and cancelled employees under each benefit plan.
- Employee Recognition: Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
- Recruitment Coordination: Manages recruitment and the interview process.
- HRIS Administration: Manages HRIS systems for employees.
- New Hire Administration: Manages new employee orientation, administers pre-employment tests, and conducts reference checks.
- Employee Records Management: Manages employee records maintenance and filing.
- Disciplinary Action Tracking: Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary actions.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Performs onboarding and offboarding interviews.
- Training & Development: Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
- Event Management: Manages events.
- Corporate Culture & Communication: Represents and communicates Velocity's corporate culture, code of business ethics, and value proposition.
What is the experience and knowledge needed to be successful in this role
- Education & Experience: BS degree plus 5+ years of experience in a strategic HR Business Partner role within a matrix environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Employee Relations Expertise: At least five years of experience in employee relations, with a strong emphasis on employee and/or labor relations and human resources policy development.
- Multi-Site & Senior-Level Support: Experience supporting multiple locations and/or business units while managing a broad range of HR-related matters at senior levels within the organization.
