Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all hull-related construction activities in the shipyard or fabrication yard.
- Monitor fabrication, welding,structural assembly, and outfitting activities for compliance with project drawings, specifications, and industry codes.
- Ensure timely completion of hull blocks, erection sequences, and integration into the overall hull structure.
- Verify alignment, fit-up, and welding quality, and support QA/QC inspections, including NDT and dimensional control.
- Participate in constructability reviews, method statement development, lifting plans, and job safety analysis (JSA).
- Oversee the installation of hull systems including ballast water, bilge, firefighting, seawater cooling,and marine systems.
- Ensure all hull tanks (e.g.,ballast, voids, fuel, potable water) are constructed and tested to required standards (e.g., hydrotest, leak test).
- Support mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities for hull systems.
- Monitor and report progress against schedule identify and address issues that could affect critical path activities.
- Interface with design engineering, procurement, HSE, QA/QC, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Maintain updated redline drawings and as-built documentation.
- Support load-out, float-off, and sail-away preparations and provide field engineering support during offshore integration if required.
- Ensure contractor and subcontractor compliance with all project HSE procedures and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Structural, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 7-10 years of relevantexperience in offshore hull construction, shipbuilding, or large floating structure projects (FPSO, FPU, FLNG, etc.).
- Solid knowledge of structural fabrication, welding practices, and hull outfitting.
- Familiarity with shipyard/fabrication yard operations and module integration practices.
- Experience with classification society requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, BV) and international codes (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, P&IDs, and 3D models.
- Familiarity with construction management systems (CMS), welding traceability systems, and QA/QC documentation processes.
- Working knowledge of mechanical completion and commissioning activities for marine systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface with multidisciplinary teams.
- High safety awareness and commitment to site HSE standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team in a dynamic project environment.
