About The Role
The Assistant Manager HSE supports the APAC QHSE Lead inimplementing and maintaining effective health, safety, and environmentalmanagement systems across client locations, ensuring compliance with legal andcorporate requirements and promoting a positive safety culture.
What You'll Do
- Support the APAC QHSELead in the development, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvementof the client's H&S management system and strategy.
- Manage HSE programs andinitiatives to meet regulatory requirements and needs of client accounts.
- Execute plans,playbooks, and procedures for the assigned account or market area.
- Provide competenttechnical advice on workplace safety and health matters in accordance withSingapore WSH legislation.
- Fulfil statutory dutiesas a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) where required.
- Act as Fire SafetyManager (FSM) for designated premises, including fire drills, inspections, andemergency preparedness.
- Develop and maintain theFire Emergency Plan and emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate riskassessments, emergency drills, and safety training programmes.
- Ensure compliance with MOMand SCDF audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
What You'll Need
- MOM-Registered WorkplaceSafety and Health Officer (WSHO) or eligible for registration.
- Valid Fire SafetyManager (FSM) certification issued by SCDF.
- Bachelor's Degree inEngineering, Safety, Environmental Science, or related discipline (preferred).
- NEBOSH InternationalDiploma or equivalent (advantageous).
- Demonstrated hands-onexperience performing WSHO and FSM-related duties.
- Experience engaging withregulators and managing compliance audits.

Qualifications

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required. Minimum four years of HSE related experience.
Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations preferred. Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is beneficial.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
As required by local authority (if required).
Communication Skills
Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires basic analytical skills.
