Overview
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing workplace safety policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The role focuses on minimizing risks, preventing incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies and procedures
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits
- Ensure compliance with local regulations such as Ministry of Manpower Singapore (MOM) and WSH guidelines
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses prepare detailed reports
- Coordinate and conduct safety training, toolbox meetings, and drills
- Monitor use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work practices
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters
- Maintain safety documentation, permits, and records (e.g., PTW, RA, SWP)
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree
- Certification such as WSH Coordinator or equivalent recognized by Workplace Safety and Health Council Singapore
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience (construction, laboratory, or industrial environment preferred)
- Strong knowledge of WSH regulations and risk management practices
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and enforce safety compliance on-site
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SCDF fire safety requirements and emergency systems
- First Aid / CPR / AED certification
- Experience with ISO standards such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)

Working Conditions
