Salling Search is partnering with a leading player in the shipping industry to recruit a Hire Specialist (Marine Accounting) to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Fixture Recaps and Charter Parties, ensuring a clear understanding of contractual obligations related to hire payments
- Liaise with global Operations and Commercial teams to gather required data for hire cash flow planning and calculations
- Prepare hire statements in Veson and manage payments and invoicing for both Trip and Period TC IN/OUT fixtures, from delivery through to finalisation
- Maintain account overviews for key clients and support consolidation processes
- Ensure high data accuracy in Veson through timely updates and careful monitoring of reports
- Track redelivered fixtures, follow up on outstanding items, and actively pursue recovery of undisputed balances
- Support onboarding, training, and mentoring of new team members where required
- Engage directly with external stakeholders, including brokers, owners, and charterers
- Arrange brokerage commission payments
Requirements
- Background in shipping or post-fixture accounting is preferred
- Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Well-organised with strong time management skills
- Proactive, with a problem-solving mindset
- Team player who contributes positively to a collaborative environment
- Takes ownership and accountability for work
- Motivated to improve processes and deliver high-quality outcomes
- Experience with Veson IMOS and Microsoft 365 is an advantage
- Strong written and spoken English skills are essential
