THE POSITION
The role is responsible for the development of the Veterinary Public Health (VPH) and Ruminants business within the Regional Operation Unit (ROPU) by translating regional strategies into effective implementation across ROPU countries. This includes providing guidance and support to OPU Business Segment Heads and Managers to ensure business objectives, market share, and sales targets are achieved. The role also serves as the primary point of contact with regional functions and directs BI toward becoming a highly effective, marketing-driven organization.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate and guide Species Business Segment Heads of ASKAN countries for implementation of sales and marketing plans and/or special projects in ROPU
- Ensure alignment with Corporate/Regional strategy, priorities and targets.
- Ensure synergies within the region are optimally used, best practices are shared and duplication is minimized.
- Ensure flawless execution through a focused, lean and agile organization.
- Guide and facilitate new launches in close collaboration with the OPU Business Segment Heads/Managers
- Guiding the development, implementation and monitoring of marketing plans to meet the species sales budget and profitability
- Review opportunities for new products to be introduced into the market and extensions to claims for existing products
- Convert and communicate regional brand strategies and marketing material for local implementation
- Drive Sales and Marketing Excellence initiatives.
- To implement ROPU ASKAN species strategy in close collaboration with the ROPU Head of AH and regional functions
- Deliver the ROPU ASKAN Brand Plan
- Ensure implementation of BI's corporate policies and respect BI's and local compliance standards
- Lead, coach and develop team members to ensure optimal individual/team performance.
- Participate actively in preparation and formalization of ROPU Annual Discussion business plan and budget with subsequent updates in collaboration with ROPU AH Head
- Regularly analyze performance/results of Swine business and respective markets to identify business challenges and opportunities
- Establish and manage key customer, business and political relationships within the country to the mutual benefit of the business and local community.
- Responsible for efficient information transfer and communication with relevant internal stakeholders of the corporation.
- Responsible for maximizing impact of technical resources in line with sales and marketing strategies
- Maintain close collaboration with ROPU Head of AH and regional functions
- Interact with Corporate/Region Strategic Business Unit (SBU) on new products and strategic projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary, Life Sciences, or Marketing (or equivalent experience in animal diseases) MBA preferred.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience in pharma, animal health, or FMCG, with Ruminants expertise and government stakeholder engagement strongly preferred.
- Leadership experience of more than 4 years and project management skills
- Knowledge of relevant legal frameworks for promotion of animal medicines
- Knowledge of technical aspects of the industry including pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs
- Strong written & verbal communication skills along with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to develop stakeholder relationships.
