Job Description

The Head of Regional Logistics is responsible for the strategic direction, management, and further development of all regional logistics activities within the corporate group. The position ensures efficient, cost optimized, and sustainable design of logistics processes and represents the logistics function internally and externally at the regional level.

As a key leadership role within a highly matrixed global organization, this position partners closely with global stakeholders to drive cross-border initiatives and support the continued growth of the APAC business. The successful candidate will balance strategic leadership with a hands-on approach, leading transformation and operational excellence across the region.

Job Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Global Logistics (CoE), the incumbent will:

  • Develops and implements strategies to maximize the efficiency and capacity of the logistics organization through effective resource utilization, leveraging technology, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and implements cost efficient logistics policies and procedures for internal operations, guidelines for outsourcing activities, and measures to mitigate supply chain logistics risks (including customs and export control).
  • Monitors logistics performance to optimize operations and identify potential weaknesses early on, including overseeing the performance of external service providers.
  • Ensures compliance with regional and local regulations and standards related to logistics, such as customs and trade regulations, minimizing the risk of penalties and delays due to non-compliance.
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Sales, SCM, Production, and Legal to align services with customer expectations and internal requirements.
  • Leads and develops the regional logistics organization, including direct leadership of assigned managers.
  • Manages and oversees major projects and initiatives focused on process optimization and digitalization.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and service providers.

Qualifications:

  • Completed university degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Several years of leadership experience in a comparable APAC regional logistics function, ideally gained within an international, product-based organisation in a similar or related industry, operating within a highly matrixed, multinational environment.
  • Proven track record in managing complex global projects and leading transformation or change initiatives across cross-border and matrixed environments.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and entrepreneurial skills, with the ability to translate strategy into execution and deliver tangible results.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in dynamic and evolving business environments, with a hands-on and adaptable approach when required.
  • Experience in leading, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams while influencing diverse stakeholders across the organization.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and innovation, with the ability to introduce new ideas and solutions to enhance logistics operations.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and digitalization initiatives experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly advantageous.
