Responsibilities
- Lead and drive the procurement function to deliver compliant and efficient sourcing strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Establish and develop a procurement framework that ensures user compliance and process integrity
- Develop and strengthen the supplier management network to enhance the tendering process with transparency and integrity
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align procurement requirements and improve user satisfaction with procured products and services
- Enhance procurement processes by automating functions through digitalization and leveraging E-commerce platforms and technological tools
- Manage procurement spend for critical spares and consumables to achieve cost savings and budget adherence
- Build and develop procurement team capabilities to support organizational growth and operational excellence
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven experience managing procurement teams and leading successful negotiations in manufacturing or equipment supply industries
- Strong communication skills to understand business needs, align supplier capabilities, and conduct negotiations using analytical and commercial judgment
- Proficiency in data analytics tools and software to support procurement decision-making
- Solid knowledge of contract management and procurement best practices
- Fluency in English and business-level proficiency in Chinese to engage effectively with suppliers
- Experience working with Chinese suppliers and knowledge of supplier networks and business practices across China and East Asia
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5-10 years of sourcing and procurement experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial capacity, preferably in steel or heavy industries
