The Head of IT Delivery, APAC, is responsible for leading and overseeing IT delivery across the APAC region, with a strong focus on driving successful system rollouts and ensuring alignment with regional and global technology strategies. This role functions as the regional IT PMO lead, overseeing project planning, execution, governance, and reporting for all major IT initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on delivery leader with strong project management capabilities and proven experience coordinating complex, multi-country deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
Delivery & Project Management
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of APAC IT programs and projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Act as the Regional IT PMO head, defining delivery frameworks, standards, methodologies, and reporting cadence.
- Drive system rollout plans across APAC, coordinating with local entities, Group teams, and external partners.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Develop and manage project budgets, resource plans, and vendor engagements.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate closely with business leaders, local market IT leads, and Group stakeholders to ensure alignment of priorities and execution plans.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on delivery progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Act as a key liaison between APAC IT and global teams for program planning and rollout coordination.
Governance & Standards
- Establish and maintain delivery governance including portfolio tracking, project prioritization, and status reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Group policies, security guidelines, and regulatory requirements across APAC markets.
- Promote adoption of best practices in project management and delivery excellence.
Hands-On Execution
- Step in directly to manage high-priority or high-risk projects when needed.
- Review project documentation, solution proposals, and test results to ensure quality and readiness.
- Support teams in resolving operational or technical blockers during implementation.
Team Leadership
- Provide guidance and mentoring to project managers and delivery leads across APAC.
- Build strong internal capability for delivery management within the region.
- Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture across the delivery function.
Qualifications & Experience
Required skills and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in project management or IT delivery, ideally in regional or multi-market settings.
- Proven track record managing complex IT system rollouts.
- Strong hands-on project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and vendor coordination.
- Experience working in matrix organizations with cross-functional teams.
Preferred skills and experience
- Experience with Guidewire/SAP implementation.
- Knowledge of insurance industry processes and regulatory requirements.
- PMO leadership experience in a regional capacity.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum are an advantage.
