This role is suited to a seasoned leader who combines deep markets expertise with the commercial instinct and personal presence to deepen institutional relationships, attract and retain talent, and drive sustained revenue growth across rates, FX, credit and commodities.
About the Role
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the FICC Sales & Trading strategy for Singapore and the broader APAC region, aligned to the firm's global growth objectives.
- Champion the desk's positioning with key institutional clients — asset managers, hedge funds, and corporates.
- Drive cross-asset product integration, working closely with equities, investment banking, and risk to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Represent the FICC franchise at the senior leadership level, contributing to firmwide strategy and regional governance forums.
Commercial & Revenue Generation
- Own full P&L accountability for the FICC desk, with responsibility for budgeting, revenue forecasting, and capital allocation.
- Deepen and expand the client franchise across rates, FX, credit, and commodities, identifying emerging revenue opportunities in growth markets.
- Lead coverage of marquee regional clients, leveraging existing relationships and actively originating new mandates.
- Partner with structuring and origination teams to develop innovative, tailored solutions for complex client needs.
People & Talent
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of sales traders and strategists.
- Build a culture of excellence, collaboration, and commercial rigour — attracting top-tier talent and elevating the team's capabilities.
- Act as a mentor and role model for junior and mid-level professionals across the desk.
Risk & Regulatory
- Maintain robust oversight of market, credit, and operational risk across all trading activities.
- Ensure full compliance with MAS regulations and all applicable local and international regulatory requirements.
- Foster a strong risk culture, ensuring the desk operates within approved limits and frameworks at all times.
- Engage proactively with Risk Management, Compliance, and internal audit functions.
Experience & Expertise
- 15+ years of progressive FICC markets experience
- Demonstrated success in a senior sales, trading, or business leadership role with direct P&L responsibility in Asia-Pacific markets.
- Broad and deep product knowledge spanning rates, FX, credit, structured products
- An established and highly respected network across the APAC institutional client landscape.
- Prior experience operating within a regulated environment in Singapore (MAS-licensed or equivalent); existing MAS Representative Notification (RN) status is strongly preferred.
