Position Summary
The Head of Commercial Excellence, Asia is a senior leadership position within Dornier MedTech's newly established Commercial Excellence Hub. This role works closely with regional General Managers to develop, implement, and integrate Dornier's global Commercial Excellence system across designated business units. Influencing rather than controlling directly, the Director serves as a trusted partner and coach to General Managers, utilizing structured problem-solving, best-practice Commercial Excellence methods, and practical deployment experience.
Mission
The mission of the Head of Commercial Excellence, Asia, is to raise the level of commercial performance across Dornier MedTech's regional businesses by applying standardized Commercial Excellence principles, tools, and operating rhythms. Through coaching, insights, and disciplined execution, the Director helps General Managers turn data into decisions, decisions into actions, and actions into sustained, profitable growth, while considering local market conditions.
Job Responsibilities
- Partner with regional General Managers as a peer-level coach and advisor to implement Dornier's Commercial Excellence framework.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve standardized commercial operating models, including planning rhythms, dashboards, and performance management processes.
- Facilitate annual, quarterly, and 12-Week Year commercial planning sessions using global templates and best practices.
- Coach General Managers and leadership teams on execution discipline, forecasting accuracy, pipeline management, and commercial decision-making.
- Ensure adoption of global dashboards and KPIs, allowing limited local customization while maintaining global comparability.
- Diagnose commercial performance gaps through data-driven analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Use structured problem-solving and fact-based methodologies to improve commercial effectiveness and consistency.
- Serve as the regional Commercial Excellence representative to the global Hub, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
- Escalate systemic risks, non-adoption of standards, or significant performance issues to the Chief Commercial Officer.
- Support the long-term development of Dornier's global Commercial Excellence capability.
Job Requirements
Qualifications/Experience
- University degree or equivalent qualification in Data Analytics, Business or Finance.
- 10+ years of experience in Commercial Excellence, commercial leadership, or management consulting.
- Successfully designed and implemented standardized commercial operating models across regions or business units.
- Experience in top-tier management consulting firms (e.g., Bain, BCG, Simon-Kucher, or similar) preferred but not required.
- Alternatively, senior-level in-house Commercial Excellence or commercial leadership experience with a similar scope and complexity.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and challenge senior leaders without formal authority.
- Strong facilitation skills and comfort working in multi-cultural, international environments.

- High proficiency in structuring executive-level discussions and decision forums.
- Fluency in English, knowledge in Mandarin and/or Japanese will be an added advantage.
