About the Role
We are seeking a senior fintech leader to spearhead global card acquiring strategy and scheme partnerships. This role is pivotal in defining and executing our card acquiring roadmap, driving Principal Membership initiatives with Visa and Mastercard, and elevating our global scheme relationships. The ideal candidate is a seasoned expert with a proven track record in cross-border card acquiring, operational excellence, and regulatory strategy—someone who can combine commercial vision with strong technical and scheme governance capabilities..
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end strategy and execution for Visa/Mastercard Principal Membership, including setup, compliance, and lifecycle management.
- Develop and expand strategic partnerships with card schemes, acquirers, processors to strengthen PayerMax's global acquiring ecosystem.
- Oversee scheme compliance and operational readiness for international card acquiring flows.
- Advise senior leadership and cross-functional teams on scheme rules, interchange optimization, settlement frameworks, and chargeback protocols.
- Drive acquiring performance enhancements-optimizing approval rates, cost efficiency, and fraud mitigation across regions.
- Represent PayerMax in scheme governance and network committees, influencing policy and standards at both regional and global levels.
- Identify and execute strategic expansion initiatives, forging partnerships with new processors, ISOs, and acquiring partners.
- Lead offline POS acquiring expansion, overseeing merchant acquisition, terminal deployment, routing optimization, and settlement management.
- Champion efforts to strengthen in-store merchant acceptance and maximize transaction success through technical enablement and network optimization.
- Serve as PayerMax's subject matter authority on global card processing, authorizations, settlements, and reconciliation processes..
Required Qualifications
- At least 10–15 years of experience in international card acquiring, processing, or scheme operations (Visa, Mastercard, or acquirer organizations).
- Demonstrated success obtaining and maintaining Principal Memberships and managing scheme relationships at scale.
- Deep expertise in acquiring lifecycle operations—including authorization, settlement, disputes, and compliance.
- Strong regulatory and stakeholder management capability, including communication with card schemes, regulators, and senior management.
- Proven experience in BIN sponsorship, merchant risk management, and cross-border scheme compliance.
- Strategic thinkerwith hands-on operational ability, excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or relevant industry required. MBA or other advanced degree preferred..
