Job Description

Our client is an organisation currently scaling its advanced intelligence capabilities. We are seeking a Head of AI Governance to lead the strategic design and operational oversight of their AI risk and ethics framework.

This is a unique opportunity for an AI Architect or Senior AI Engineer who has transitioned into the policy and regulatory space. We are specifically looking for a leader who has been there, done that in the engineering trenches and can now apply that deep technical intuition to high-level governance. You will bridge the gap between what we can build and how we build responsibly, ensuring that complex model architectures—from LLMs to agentic workflows—are robust, transparent, and compliant.

The Role

Based in Singapore, you will lead the charge in defining how the organisation adopts emerging technologies. You won't just be writing policies; you will be architecting the regulatory guardrails that allow engineering teams to innovate at speed without compromising security or ethics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Policy & Strategy Development: Translate complex technical AI concepts into robust internal policies and governance frameworks that govern the full AI lifecycle.
  • Regulatory Advisory: Act as the subject matter expert on global and local AI regulations (e.g., IMDA Model Frameworks, EU AI Act), converting high-level legal requirements into actionable technical standards for developers.
  • Architectural Guardrails: Define the technical standards for model validation, adversarial robustness, and security-by-design within AI pipelines.
  • Technical Risk Oversight: Conduct deep-dive technical risk assessments on complex models, focusing on bias detection, data lineage, and hallucination management.
  • Stakeholder Synthesis: Act as the primary translator between technical AI Research/Engineering teams and Legal, Risk, and Compliance functions.

About You

You are a technologist at heart who has pivoted into the regulatory sphere. You understand the under the hood mechanics of weights, biases, and transformer architectures, and you use that experience to ensure policies are grounded in technical reality.

  • The Been There, Done That Requirement: You must have a proven track record in AI Engineering or Solution Architecture. You should be comfortable discussing MLOps, LLMOps, and API security because you have built them yourself.
  • Governance Expertise: Substantial experience in a dedicated AI Risk, Policy, or Governance role, with a focus on implementing frameworks in a commercial environment.
  • Regulatory Fluency: A deep understanding of the evolving AI regulatory landscape and the ability to anticipate how changes will impact technical roadmaps.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to influence C-suite stakeholders while maintaining absolute credibility with hands-on engineers.
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical field is essential.

Why Apply

This role offers the chance to shape the ethical AI landscape from a position of technical authority. If you are tired of governance being a purely administrative exercise and want to lead a Policy-First function backed by genuine engineering experience, we want to hear from you.
