Head of Accounting, APAC
About the Role
A dynamic, fast-growing global pharmaceutical company is seeking a Head of Accounting, APAC to lead its accounting operations across the region. Operating in over 25 countries worldwide, the business is dedicated to bringing innovative therapies to patients in need and requires a strong financial leader to ensure robust accounting, compliance, and reporting structures across Asia-Pacific.
The role will be based in Singapore and will report directly into the global Director of Finance. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, collaborating closely with regional management and cross-functional teams including FP&A, IT, Treasury, Supply Chain, and Tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the accounting framework across APAC, ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance with global standards.
- Oversee and support all regional accounting and tax compliance requirements.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy in financial reporting and closing processes to support strategic decision-making.
- Align regional financial and operational processes with corporate finance leadership.
- Partner with APAC and country management on financial flows, ensuring consistency with FP&A, Supply Chain, and corporate guidelines to improve efficiency.
- Establish and enforce internal control frameworks, including expense management and travel policies.
- Drive ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in senior finance or accounting roles within multinational organizations.
- CPA qualification with Big 4 audit experience (mandatory).
- Fluent in English (Mandarin and/or Korean language skills an advantage).
- Proven experience managing statutory reporting requirements across APAC markets.
- Strong knowledge of local tax, VAT/GST, CIT, and general APAC accounting standards and regulations.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry (advantage).
- Previous experience as a regional APAC finance manager (mandatory).
- Familiarity with NetSuite ERP systems (advantage).
