Role Summary
The Head of Centre of Teaching & Learning (CTL) provides leadership in designing and implementing innovative teaching and learning strategies in alignment with the College's theological and educational mission. This role oversees curriculum instructional design, faculty teaching training and the integration of educational technology to enhance learning outcomes for adult learners in theological education. The role is also accountable for the development and production of digital learning materials such as video lectures, instructional clips and interactive online content to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement. Working with the Academic Affairs Domain team members, ensure content aligns with academic standards and supports faculty in delivering high-quality online and hybrid learning experiences.
Work Conditions
The Head of CTL operates in a dynamic academic setting that integrates traditional theological education with modern instructional technologies. This role requires engagement with faculty, students and external partners to drive innovation in curriculum design and digital learning platforms. The role involves both office-based and interactive work, including faculty teaching training, strategy meetings and hands-on development of educational resources. While the work is primarily on-site at the College, there may be requirements for conferences, partnerships or professional development participation. The role also demands adaptability in a fast-evolving learning environment, balancing academic rigor with technological advancements to enhance theological education and delivery methodologies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic Development
- Develop and implement innovative teaching methodologies rooted in sound theological education.
- Align curriculum development with adult learning principles and theological frameworks.
Curriculum Design, Content Production & Digital Resources
- Collaborate the creation, revision and accreditation of theological programs.
- Ensure course content integrates biblical principles with contemporary ministry needs.
- Direct the production of multimedia instructional resources, including video-based lessons, interactive modules and online course materials.
Faculty Development
- Provide training and technical guidance for faculty on designing and producing engaging instructional videos, e-learning assets, and other digital content.
- Lead workshops and training on effective teaching strategies and curriculum delivery.
- Mentor faculty in instructional design, assessment and student engagement.
EdTech Integration
- Implement learning management systems (LMS) and digital tools for hybrid and online learning.
- Guide the adoption of AI and digital learning resources to enhance theological education.
Quality Assurance & Innovation
- Establish production workflows, review content for teaching and learning, technical quality and introduce innovative approaches to online instructional delivery.
- Ensure compliance with theological accreditation standards and best practices in curriculum development and digital content creation.
Research & Development
- Stay updated on global trends in theological education, pedagogy and digital learning.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external theological institutions and accrediting agencies to advance curriculum goals.

- Master of Education (Curriculum and Instructional)
- Master of Theology, Christian Studies Experience with online theological education and AI-driven learning tools.
- Understanding of theological education trends, including online and hybrid learning.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards for theological institutions.
- Knowledge of higher education governance and policies.
- Knowledge of learning experience design, instructional storytelling and multimedia learning principles.
- Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design models (eg ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy).
- Deep understanding of adult learning theories, competency-based education and microlearning.
- AI-driven learning tools and EdTech trends (eg adaptive learning, gamification).
- Familiarity with academic accreditation processes for theological colleges.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (eg PDPA) in online education.
- Compliance with learning accessibility standards (eg WCAG, UDL frameworks).
Experience
- 7-10 years in academic leadership, curriculum design and EdTech innovation
- 5 years of teaching experience at tertiary level
- 5 years leading curriculum development projects and faculty training
- Experience in theological education and seminary-based curriculum development
- Proven track record of implementing digital and hybrid learning models
- Experience in managing faculty development programs
- Designed and implemented a competency-based theological education framework
- Led digital transformation initiatives, including LMS implementation
- Developed faculty training modules on instructional design and AI-driven learning
