Head, AI and Tech Strategy

Our client is looking to hire a Head of AI and Tech Strategy, a highly visible group-level technology leadership role that sits at the intersection of IT leadership, digital transformation, AI strategy, and enterprise technology governance. Reporting into senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the Group's long-term technology agenda while partnering closely with business leaders and technology executives across the portfolio to drive strategic transformation initiatives.

This role combines both strategic influence and operational leadership. At the Group level, you will work directly with senior executives, Boards, and business technology leaders to define technology priorities, evaluate strategic investments, drive digital and AI transformation initiatives, and establish governance across areas such as cybersecurity, AI, data, and technology risk. You will help shape the organisation's AI roadmap, identify high-value opportunities for innovation, and ensure technology investments are aligned with broader business objectives and long-term enterprise value.

Alongside this strategic remit, you will also lead the corporate IT function for the group, overseeing enterprise infrastructure, digital workplace services, cybersecurity, end-user computing, enterprise applications, and technology operations. This aspect of the role requires an experienced technology leader who understands how to build a resilient, secure, and high-performing IT environment while enabling the organisation's broader digital ambitions.

Ideal candidates are senior technology leaders who have progressed from IT operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, or technology management into broader digital transformation, innovation, or AI initiatives. Candidates who have successfully led enterprise-wide transformation programmes, partnered with C-suite executives, presented technology strategies to Boards, and balanced operational excellence with long-term technology planning will be particularly well suited. Experience across multiple industries or within complex group organisations, together with exposure to AI strategy, digitalisation, or technology advisory, would be highly advantageous.
