Job Summary
Lead the Singapore office as General Manager to drive regional business growth, manage key maritime industry client relationships, and coordinate closely with headquarters in Japan and regional stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage daily operations of the Singapore office to ensure efficient business functioning
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies for marine pump products to increase regional market share
- Manage and nurture key customer relationships with shipowners, shipyards, and distributors to enhance client retention and satisfaction
- Act as the primary liaison between Singapore operations and headquarters in Japan to align business objectives and communication
- Interpret and communicate technical specifications, commercial terms, and corporate directives from headquarters to local teams and clients
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence across Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Europe
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance to meet company financial targets
- Provide leadership and guidance to local staff to foster a productive and motivated work environment
Required competencies and certifications
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) for effective communication within the multicultural regional environment
- Proficiency in Japanese (written and spoken) to conduct daily communication with headquarters, including technical discussions and business strategy alignment
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in marine equipment, engineering sales, or related industries
- Proven track record in sales, business development, and regional account management
- Strong understanding of the maritime industry and marine pump technology
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and manage regional operations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
