Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Live Nation is launching a new, purpose-built mid-size live music venue in Singapore with a capacity of 3,000. Designed to host both international touring acts and local artists, the venue will also feature secondary spaces including a caf and bar.

The Venue General Manager (GM) will join at the mobilisation stage, playing a pivotal role in ensuring operational readiness before opening to the public. This includes overseeing recruitment, systems implementation, vendor and contractor tendering through to contract award, and programming strategy. The GM will ensure safe, efficient, and commercially successful operations while cultivating strong relationships with promoters, partners, and stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Live Nation President of Venue Development for Asia, the GM will align venue operations with regional strategy and global standards. This role demands strong leadership, financial discipline, and hands-on management tailored to Singapore's competitive live entertainment landscape.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the venue's annual business plan, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
  • Oversee all aspects of venue operations, including compliance, asset management, event programming, and team leadership.
  • Drive commercial growth through partnerships, diversified event content, and secondary revenue streams.
  • Foster a culture of safety, inclusivity, and collaboration across the venue team.
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and service providers to ensure operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Manage daytoday operations to deliver safe, consistent, and highquality events.
  • Diversify programming to attract a broad demographic and strengthen the venue's market position.
  • Monitor performance against business plan targets and adjust strategies as needed.

Financial & Compliance Management

  • Ensure adherence to lease agreements, statutory obligations, licensing, and health & safety regulations.
  • Lead the tendering process, vendor and contractor selection, and contract awarding stage.
  • Secure and oversee contracts, vendor relationships, and community partnerships.
  • Deliver accurate financial reporting, forecasts, and settlements in line with business objectives.
  • Support Live Nation's sustainability objectives through Green Nation initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a multidisciplinary team across core functions.
  • Build an inclusive, collaborative culture with clear succession planning.
  • Implement training programs to bridge knowledge gaps and enhance team capability.
  • Ensure KPIs and individual development plans are established and maintained for all team members.
  • Guarantee annual training refreshers to uphold compliance and performance standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with Lendlease, government agencies, neighbouring tenants, promoters, organisers, and commercial partners.
  • Represent the venue in community and industry partnerships.

Risk & Safety

  • Identify and mitigate risks across operations, staff, and patron experience.
  • Maintain and evolve policies and procedures to support safe, efficient event delivery.
  • Champion customer service and safety as core values of the venue.

Artist & Fan Experience

  • Ensure venue fosters an inclusive and dynamic experience for a wide array of fans
  • Maintain a high-level of professionalism to support artist needs
  • Develop, introduce and oversee a premium fan experiences and products within the venue

Objectives & Key Results

The effectiveness of the position will be measured by:

  • Achieving profitability and operational targets.
  • Fulfilling all obligations under the venue lease.
  • Maintaining high team morale and demonstrating effective succession planning.
  • Expanding the venue diary and revenue streams.
  • Implementing robust compliance systems for statutory and licensing requirements.
  • Building positive relationships with stakeholders, partners, suppliers, and agencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 57 years senior experience in venue management or similar leadership roles within live events or hospitality.
  • Extensive local venue management expertise with knowledge of international event markets.
  • Hands-on management style with the ability to mobiliser teams under tight timelines.
  • Proven track record in booking diary management and working with event promoters and organisers.
  • Strong background in marketing, event promotion, and developing commercial partnerships.
  • Exceptional customer service and management skills, with the ability to deliver highquality patron experiences.
  • Excellent contract negotiation and financial management ability, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience in systems implementation, tendering, and operational compliance.
  • Demonstrated leadership in line management of staff and contractors, with strong team development and succession planning skills.
  • Ability to manage complex situations with confidence, tact, and diplomacy, proactively identifying problems and implementing solutions.
  • Adaptable and collaborative, working effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Good understanding of the live entertainment and public venue industry, including compliance and operational standards.
  • Fluency in verbal and written English and Mandarin
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with venue digital platforms.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by the events calendar.

Please note: This role requires proven senior leadership experience overseeing multiple functional teams within a live entertainment or venue environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate the capability to lead a team comprising of several managerial roles across the following functions:

Events Operations Function, Finance Manager, Human Resource & Admin, Production, Marketing & Partnerships, F&B Manager, Commercial & Sales Manager and Bookings/Content function, Technical and Facilities Manager.
