Company Overview

We are the Singapore subsidiary of an established multinational group with long-standing operations across Asia. The Singapore office plays a regional coordination role, working closely with headquarters in Japan and overseas affiliates to ensure operational alignment, governance and execution consistency across markets.

Role and Responsibilities

The General Manager (Construction) will oversee the planning, execution and management of major construction projects undertaken by the company. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards.

The position also serves as a key interface between the Singapore operations and overseas headquarters, ensuring alignment in project management standards, governance and reporting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead and oversee the execution of large-scale construction and engineering projects in Singapore and the region.

• Provide overall project governance covering planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement and risk management

• Ensure compliance with Singapore regulatory requirements, safety standards and corporate policies

• Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary teams including project managers, engineers, contractors and consultants

• Monitor project progress, cost control and quality assurance to ensure timely delivery of projects

• Liaise with senior Management and stakeholders on project performance and operational matters

• Prepare and present periodic project and operational reports to regional management and headquarters in Japan

• Support strategic planning, business development and operational improvements within the construction division

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or Bachelor degree in other fields

• At least 18-20 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering project management or infrastructure development

• Proven experience managing large-scale industrial or infrastructure construction projects

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large project teams and multiple stakeholders

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills suitable for senior management reporting

• Full-time role based in Singapore

• Senior management position within the construction division

• Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and seniority
