The Singapore office plays a critical regional coordination role, working closely with headquarters in Japan and overseas affiliates to ensure operational alignment, financial governance and execution consistency across markets.
Role and Responsibilities
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial planning, reporting and fiscal management of the company's regional operations. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance and alignment with corporate standards. The position serves as a key interface between Singapore operations and Japan headquarters, ensuring alignment in accounting standards and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and oversee the financial operations and fiscal management for the Singapore office and Bangladeshi branch office.
- Provide overall financial governance covering budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore financial regulatory requirements, tax laws and corporate accounting policies.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary finance teams, including accountants, auditors and tax consultants.
- Monitor financial performance, cost control and quality assurance of financial data to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Liaise with senior management and stakeholders on financial performance and strategic operational matters.
- Prepare and submit all financial and operational reports in Japanese to headquarters in Japan on a monthly basis.
- Support strategic planning, business development and operational improvements within the finance division.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Bachelor degree in other fields professional qualifications (e.g., CA, CPA, or ACCA) are highly preferred.
- JLPT N1 certification or equivalent native-level proficiency is mandatory to facilitate complex monthly reporting and direct communication with headquarters in Japan.
- At least 18-20 years of relevant experience in financial management, corporate accounting, or regional controllership.
- Proven experience managing financial operations for large-scale industrial or multinational organizations.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing finance teams and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills suitable for senior management reporting.
