General Ledger (GL) Supervisor

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced General Ledger (GL) Supervisor / Lead to oversee the full GL function and financial reporting process. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial records, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

You will also supervise a small team, support month-end and year-end closing activities, and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting

• Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Oversee general ledger maintenance, including account classifications, intercompany balances, and suspense accounts

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (SFRS/IFRS) and internal policies

• Support internal and external audits, as well as GST and corporate tax reporting

• Develop and improve accounting workflows, closing checklists, and internal control processes

• Supervise and guide GL team members, including workload allocation and performance monitoring

• Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of audit trails across all accounting processes

Job Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline

• 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience

• Prior supervisory experience will be an advantage

• Experience using ERP accounting systems preferred
