This role involves designing and developing an interactive, web-based game for use at trade shows, focused on educating visitors about load management in an engaging and accessible way. The game, Peak Shaver – Save the Grid!, will allow players to act as energy managers, aiming to prevent load peaks from multiple energy consumers within a short, timed session. The ideal candidate or team will deliver a seamless, touchscreen-optimized experience that encourages user participation and lead generation, while ensuring the platform is robust, fast-loading, and easy to update.
Responsibilities
- Develop a web-based game optimized for touchscreen devices and trade show environments
- Implement real-time load visualization and intuitive controls for a 30–45 second gameplay session
- Provide instant feedback and scoring based on player performance
- Integrate a post-game registration system for leaderboard participation and lead collection
- Ensure offline capability, fast loading times, and local highscore storage
- Enable export functions for collected leads and facilitate easy content updates
- Collaborate on integrating provided branding materials and maintaining a simple, user-friendly interface
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience in web game development, preferably for events or educational purposes
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3; experience with game frameworks such as Phaser or similar is highly desirable
- Ability to design intuitive touchscreen interfaces and real-time data visualizations
- Experience implementing offline functionality and local data storage
- Familiarity with user registration flows and secure data handling for lead generation
- Strong attention to performance optimization and fast loading
- Ability to work with provided branding assets and adapt content as needed
