Parabolea is a mid-frequency hedge fund based in Singapore.
We are hiring for a talented research analyst with deep interest in covering macro developments, thematic narratives and company updates for the fund's trading portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity that allows for broad research exposure and ideas generation across markets, themes and coverage selection.
The analyst will work directly with the portfolio managers in a lean team structure. Compensation is directly linked to your ability to deliver on the responsibilities. We are flexible to hire a junior to mid-level analyst for this role.
This is an in-person role. You are required to work at the office.
Responsibilities
- Generate strong and consistent alpha by applying a top-down selection process.
- Identify and conduct high-quality, predictive analysis of macro events, secular market trends and securities selection.
- Monitor companies selected for the fund's portfolio and recommend additions/removals where required based on sound fundamental reasoning.
- Interpret and react with clarity on industry developments or company-specific events that may affect the performance of companies within the fund's portfolio.
- Portfolio monitoring and internal reporting to portfolio managers with clear, well-reasoned research findings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
- 1-5 years of relevant experience in macro research, equity research or investment analysis.
- Display clear understanding of (i) how global markets and liquidity work, (ii) current market trends and (iii) stock selection principles.
- Ability to match intuition with fact-based fundamental reasoning.
- Strong written and verbal skills, able to articulate research findings concisely with clarity.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a lean team structure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Statistics, programming or quantitative analysis are a plus.
