French Language Teacher

Part-time, 10 -15 hours per week, five days a week

Role

We are excited to announce this position for our school. Starting in the 2025/2026 school year, our English Stream classes will be offered the option to learn a second language instead of Dutch as a second language. Students will have the choice between Mandarin or French, and we are looking for an enthusiastic French Language Teacher to help launch and develop the French program.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality French language instruction to our students in the lower and middle primary classes ranging from 4 to 8 years of age. In time, the range will extend to upper primary classes as well.

Responsibilities

In your position, you are required to develop and implement French language lessons aligned with the curriculum standards and in alignment with the IEYC and IPC curriculum.

You know how to differentiate instruction to meet the different needs and proficiency levels of students. You will collaborate with teachers across all levels of the school to implement our curriculum outcomes.

You are responsible for:

  • Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment that prioritises student well-being, and promotes active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
  • using a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology tools to enhance student learning experiences
  • Assessing student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments and providing timely feedback to support their language development
  • Collaborating with colleagues to integrate language instruction across the curriculum and support the school's mission of promoting multilingualism and intercultural understanding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in French, Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification (e.g., FLA) and/or a relevant teaching qualification. QTS or equivalent is a plus.
  • Proven experience teaching the French language and/or teaching a (primary) curriculum in French.
  • Familiarity with IEYC and IPC curriculum is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
  • ICT proficiency, particularly with Google Workspace and Apple tools.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including the ability to engage in safe practices and undergo necessary checks.
  • A willingness to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment, promoting equity and respect for all students and staff.

Our offer

An employment contract starting on 5 January 2025 till June 30, 2026. This position entails a part-time commitment for 2 or 3 hours per day, for five days per week.

In addition to a competitive monthly salary, based on your experience and expertise, you will be entitled to a monthly transportation allowance and will follow the school holiday schedule for teachers. Furthermore, we provide a health insurance package and offer a bonus payment.
