A dynamic opportunity is available for a creative short-form video editor and strategist to collaborate with a DJ and producer in the EDM weddings niche, based in Chicago. The role focuses on transforming raw DJ performance footage into viral, story-driven content tailored for social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a keen sense for music-driven editing, an understanding of EDM and wedding culture, and a passion for crafting engaging narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. This is a long-term creative partnership, with the goal of producing multiple high-quality reels each week and adapting to evolving trends in the social media landscape.
Deliverables
- Edit raw DJ and event footage into short-form videos (reels) optimized for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
- Create 5–10 variations per video for A/B testing and platform optimization
- Cut clips to the beat, ensuring strong hooks within the first 3–5 seconds to maximize viewer retention
- Develop story-driven edits that highlight the energy and uniqueness of EDM wedding events
- Research and adapt trending TikTok formats and viral storytelling techniques to the content
- Write compelling captions, hooks, and select relevant hashtags for each post
- Maintain consistent brand aesthetics, drawing inspiration from leading EDM and wedding content creators
- Collaborate on content planning and propose new creative ideas to drive social media growth
Requirements
- Proven experience editing short-form video content for social media, preferably in music, events, or entertainment
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Strong sense of rhythm, pacing, and visual storytelling, with the ability to sync edits to music
- Familiarity with current trends on Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts
