Financial Director

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Financial Director to join our leadership team in Singapore. The Financial Director will oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This role will work closely with senior leadership to align financial strategies with the company's long-term business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with the ability to lead and mentor a finance team while ensuring compliance, profitability, and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes across the organization.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and the board of directors to drive informed business decisions.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and manage internal financial controls, risk management, and compliance procedures to ensure adherence to financial regulations and industry standards.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
- Conduct financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights into business performance.
- Collaborate with department heads to optimize budget allocation and monitor spending.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring professional development and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws that impact the company.
- Oversee financial audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance and transparency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or CPA is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and managing financial operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to influence senior leadership decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and MS Excel.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have:
- Experience in managing financial operations for a multinational company.
- Knowledge of tax compliance and regulatory requirements in Singapore and the APAC region.
- Exposure to fundraising, mergers & acquisitions, or capital markets.
- Experience in a specific industry, such as technology, manufacturing, or finance, is a plus.
