We're partnering with an ambitious, global advertising group looking for a technically and commercially strong Financial Controller to oversee their APAC region.
The group is currently going through an exciting but challenging global finance transformation and this role will play an integral part in helping manage the financial functions for the APAC region.
Reporting to the local CFO, the primary responsibility for the Financial Controller is to deliver for regional scope, the view of all legal entity's accounting figures, in respect of compliance and accounting standards.
We're looking for someone that can start ASAP due to the urgency of this requirement and therefore candidates with little or no notice period are preferred.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Manage and supervise entity controllers and accounting teams across the region to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements
- Lead the monthly consolidation process, including intercompany reconciliations and group reporting to the Group team
- Support monthly and quarterly board reporting and management presentations
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation for key transactions
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to timelines
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and statutory reporting requirements
- Assist with budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting
- Manage the external audit process and coordinate auditor requests
Process & Systems Improvement
- Act as the regional lead for the financial reporting system (NetSuite) and drive system and process optimisation
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, including automation, process standardisation, and entity rationalisation
- Document and enhance financial processes to support scalability and future growth
- Participate in or lead regional and global finance projects, ensuring continuous improvement and best practice alignment
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as FP&A, Tax, Legal, HR, and regional business leads to ensure financial alignment and transparency
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to regional management, providing insights and support for strategic decision-making
- Support the development and mentoring of regional finance team members.
Financial Controller - Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and management principles ideally gained within a Marketing or Media business
- Ideally Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced, international environment
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including proficiency in IFRS and local GAAP
- Experience with financial reporting for multinational or listed entities
- Demonstrated experience in financial consolidation and multi-entity accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in accounting systems (preferably NetSuite or similar ERP)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, capable of partnering across finance and non-finance functions
- Experience working within transformation or process improvement environments
Financial Controller - Package
- Salary up to $200,000 plus an extensive benefits package
