Job Description

You will be part of the Finance Operations function within the Finance Business Partner (FBP) team, supporting the organisation's mission by ensuring strong financial governance, operational excellence, and high-quality financial reporting.

This role focuses on delivering accurate, timely, and well-controlled finance operations, enabling Finance Business Partners to focus on strategic advisory, decision support, and value creation across products, programmes, and divisions. You will work closely with FBPs, project teams, and central finance stakeholders to ensure financial processes are executed efficiently and in compliance with policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Closing and Reporting

  • Update monthly financial trackers and reporting decks across divisions and programmes
  • Perform manpower cost allocation and adjustments on a monthly/quarterly basis
  • Execute central cost allocations to products and programmes
  • Conduct pre-close reasonableness checks, highlighting key movements, risks, and issues
  • Prepare and review accruals, reclassification journals, and supporting documentation with proper approvals and audit trails
  • Ensure timely, complete, and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Follow up proactively on outstanding items and resolve data gaps

Finance Operations Support

  • Serve as the primary Finance Operations contact for handling queries and providing guidance to users and project teams
  • Collaborate with project and procurement teams to manage the purchase order lifecycle (e.g. amendments, re-tagging, closure)
  • Support fixed asset transfers and re-tagging processes
  • Maintain and track resource augmentation records
  • Coordinate with central finance teams to resolve operational issues efficiently

Governance

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, internal guidelines, and audit requirements
  • Maintain accurate classification, tagging, and documentation of revenue and expenses
  • Identify and escalate governance risks or control gaps in a timely manner

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise, and automate finance operations and reporting
  • Participate in system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate reporting logic, controls, and data accuracy
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and playbooks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality, reporting reliability, and operational efficiency

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Finance Business Partners, Project Managers, Procurement, and finance teams to resolve issues and improve processes
  • Provide clear, timely, and practical finance guidance to stakeholders

Other Responsibilities

  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, projects, and duties as assigned to support organisational priorities

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or a relevant professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in finance operations, reporting, audit, or accounting
  • Experience in a technology, public sector, or large matrix organisation is preferred

  • Comfortable working with large datasets and tight timelines
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and accountable team player with a positive attitude
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data tools (e.g. Power Pivot, Power Query, Tableau)
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Workday is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of automation tools (e.g. Python, VBA, Power Automate) is a plus
