ROLE DESCRIPTION
WHO ARE YOU
The Finance Manager will support our Finance Director in overseeing the full spectrum of finance and accounting functions for our events-focused business. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Xero accounting software, a solid understanding of event-based financial operations, and in-depth knowledge of Singapore's financial and statutory requirements.
Accountabilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage full-set accounts using Xero, including AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and cash flow forecasts
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for events and projects
- Provide financial insights to support pricing, costing, and profitability of events
Event Industry Financial Operations
- Manage event budgets, cost tracking, and post-event financial reconciliations
- Monitor project-based revenues, expenses, and margins
- Work closely with project and event teams to ensure financial discipline
- Handle multi-vendor billing, sponsorship income, and client invoicing
Compliance & Statutory Requirements
- Ensure compliance with IRAS, ACRA, and statutory reporting requirements
- Prepare and submit GST filings, corporate tax schedules, and supporting documents
- Manage CPF, payroll processing, and employee-related statutory payments
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, banks, and regulatory authorities
Process Improvement & Controls
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes
- Improve accounting workflows and reporting efficiency within Xero
- Support system enhancements, integrations, and automation where applicable
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Supervise or mentor junior finance staff (if applicable)
- Act as a key finance business partner to management and operations teams
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with internal stakeholders across departments to provide financial guidance and support business operations. Partner with project, production, and management teams to ensure clear alignment on budgets, costs, cash flow, and financial timelines. Communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, and ensure all financial reports, analyses, and documentation meet Sight's professional and governance standards.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
Implementation and strict adherence of the Sight handbook and templates and processes as inducted.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA) is an advantage
- Minimum 5-8 years of relevant finance/accounting experience
- Proven experience in the event, entertainment, or project-based industry
- Strong hands-on experience with Xero (mandatory)
- Solid understanding of Singapore accounting standards, GST, and tax regulations
- Experience managing project-based or event-driven financials
- High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
